Women of Manufacturing & Empowering Network (WOMEN) is a federally tax exempt 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization formed in California for the purpose of advancing the participation of women in the manufacturing sector. As an advocacy driven nonprofit, we support public policy initiatives to directly benefit women in the manufacturing sector through employment awareness campaigns and social action strategies on key issues. Public re-education is essential to overcoming the uninformed belief that manufacturing careers are mainly for men. One of our goals is to help break down the barriers that keep female manufacturing specialists from realizing their career ambitions.

We TRANSFORM

Mentoring is crucial for professional development and a gateway to economic empowerment. The knowledge gained from professional and social interactions is an important stepping stone to career advancement. Manufacturing mentors understand the personal and professional tools needed for peak performance in the workplace. Experienced mentors can provide valuable insights that may help women at all levels of manufacturing balance work and family responsibilities. WOMEN provides links and other information on mentoring opportunities for women — both mentors and mentees — in manufacturing.
